Dear Friend of the House:

I'm pleased to announce the date, time and preliminary agenda for the next meeting of The Secret Order of The Magic Pearl, the quasi-secret, mildly occult, exceptionally attractive coven/clan/cohort/cache of supporters of The House Theatre of Chicago.

We shall be convening our next gathering at Carmichael's Chicago Steak House event space (1052 W Monroe in Chicago's West Loop) on Friday, June 20, 2008.

Our agenda will include dancing, singing, arcane rites, impassioned speechmaking, goggling, imbibing, and conjuring. Also, fighting evil.

Dress code is, as before, festive formal, although this time facial tattoos have been made optional. Sashes displaying medals, medallions, and trophies of defeated enemies are strongly encouraged, especially if accessorized with a sword cane.

Dinner will be served. We shall also nourish the soul, at a buffet of wonders included in the price.
