The House Theatre of Chicago closes Season 4 with Hope Springs Infernal. Chicago’s most exciting young theatre company sets its imaginative powers to work on the world’s original superheroes with legends of Ares, Athena and the curse of Pandora’s box. Humankind hangs in the balance as the Gods wage war against Fate in this magical epic by The House.

Directed by Tommy Rapley, Hope Springs Infernal stretches The House’s unique performative vocabulary, continuing the company’s development of strong narrative through movement, music, dialogue, magic and theatrical spectacle. Kevin O’Donnell’s original score, Tracy Otwell’s industrial scenic design, Lee Keenan’s epic lighting, Debbie Baer’s high-fashion costume design and Dennis Watkins’s stunning magic create a daring new playground for the show’s classic characters.
