Izumi Inaba is a costume designer in Chicago. Born and raised in Japan, she came to the U.S. to study performing arts when she was 18 years old. After graduating from Northwestern University, she started her career as a costume designer in Chicago and greater Chicago areas. With The House, she’s designed the world premieres of Season on the Line, The Revel, A Comedical Tragedy for Mister Punch, Diamond Dogs, and Borealis. Her design works have been seen in many theaters including Goodman, Steppenwolf, Court, Chicago Shakespeare, Writers, Northlight, Victory Gardens, Lyric Unlimited, The Hypocrites, Route 66, Theatre Wit, Halcyon, Griffin, Lifeline, 16th Street, Remy Bumppo, Sideshow, Steep, TUTA, Strawdog, Red Tape, Red Twist, and more. Regionally her works appeared in Milwaukee Rep, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Baltimore Center Stage, and Los Angeles’ Kirk Douglas Theatre.
